If a class is already filled, add your name to the waiting list and we will contact you if a seat becomes available. NMC policy is that an adult must register minor students.

Most classes allow late registration. Please call 231-995-1700 to inquire about late registration.

How can I request a catalog?

To request a mailed catalog, click here. You will receive a copy of our current catalog, and be added to our mailing list for future terms.

How do I know if there are available seats in a class?

If a class is full, a waiting list button appears and you have the option of placing yourself on the waiting list. If a seat becomes available, we will contact you.

How will I know if I got into a class?

When you self-register, after completing your credit card payment, your registration is complete and you will receive a class confirmation and transaction receipt via email. If you register by phone or mail and you provide an email address, you will receive an email confirmation and transaction receipt once your registration is processed.

What about inclement weather & other cancellations?

There are a variety of ways a lifelong learning class at Extended Educational Services (EES) may be canceled due to unfavorable weather.
NMC may (this includes EES classes):

  • DELAY opening
  • CANCEL all classes
  • CLOSE EARLY
  • CANCEL AN INDIVIDUAL CLASS.

In these events, NMC-EES staff or the instructor will email and/or call the affected students.
Online and Livestream classes are not usually affected by inclement weather. In the event of a cancellation of an Online or Livestream class, students will be notified via email.
You may call (231) 995-1718 anytime for weather-related cancellations of NMC lifelong learning classes.

Sometimes we have to cancel classes with insufficient enrollment. You will be notified by email or telephone if your class is canceled, and a 100% refund will be issued.
