NMC Parking Information
Do I need a parking permit?
Parking Permits are needed for NMC Main Campus parking lots 8 am to 6 pm on weekdays only, September 1 to June 1.
This includes classes at the Dennos Museum, Scholars Hall, Osterlin Building, Tanis Building, Les Biederman Building, Health & Sciences Building, Founders Hall, Innovation Center, Fine Arts Building, James Beckett Building, North Hall, Oleson Center, and Phys. Ed. Building.
If you are taking a weekday class between September 1 and June 1, and will be parked in a lot between 8 am and 6 pm on main campus, you will need to email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 231.995.1700 to get a parking permit.
The University Center, Great Lakes, and Aero Park campuses are not monitored and do not require a permit.
Where should I park?
The closest parking lots for main campus buildings are:
Dennos Museum: Aspen Lot
Osterlin Building: Birch Lot (closest accessible parking)
Health & Sciences Building: Cedar Lot
Fine Arts Building: Maple Lot
North Hall: Elm Lot
Oleson Center: Maple Lot
Parking lots are in alphabetical order as you enter the main campus from the light at College Drive and E. Front St.
Tamarack Lot is located off of E. Front Street.
The gated part of Aspen Lot requires a code from the Dennos Museum to exit, which is given to Dennos Museum visitors. Please do not park in the gated area unless your class is at the Dennos Museum.
Pine Lot is for apartment resident parking only.
During Fall and Winter/Spring semesters, Chestnut and Dogwood Lots fill with dorm residents.
There are a few metered parking spots on campus. You can not park in a metered spot if you have an NMC parking permit, you will be ticketed. Metered spots are limited to 2 hours.
For maps of our campuses, including information on accessible parking and entrances, or to get driving directions, visit our Campus Maps & Facilities Page.
