Drone technologies are being used across industries from search and rescue to logistics to infrastructure inspection to agriculture, and even to healthcare. Drones were originally developed for military and aerospace industries, and continue to be used for surveillance and security, however, now they have many functions, ranging from monitoring climate change to carrying out search operations after natural disasters, and delivering goods. Join Tony Sauerbrey, Director of NMC’s Uncrewed Aerial Systems Program for a discussion about the history of drones, their role in current day industry, the regulatory implications of using drones, the career trajectory of NMC’s Uncrewed Aerial Systems students, and finally, take a tour of NMC’s Drone Lab.
