Learn Together: Furniture Making for Two: Build a Windsor Natural-Edged Bench

Learn together! Partners, friends, or creative teens who like to work with your hands - this class is for you. Make it a couples date or a friends activity! Or, teens bring an adult with you to create a project together. Say “hello” to curvy edges and corners in your hallway or living room. Join David for two days of creative woodworking to turn a natural-edged slab of cherry, walnut, or maple into a beautiful bench. A practical addition to the back hallway or foot of your bed. Leave behind the predictability of the big box store to work with a variety of natural shapes, colors, and curves. Choose from wood slabs ranging from 8-14" wide and 24-36" long. Expect curves, color, pattern, and wavy edges. Many of these slabs will be from the outer edge of the log where bugs and bacteria have been hard at work making unique colors and excavations. All turnings for legs and stretchers will be provided. Choose from cherry, walnut, or ambrosia maple. All students will take home a completed bench that is glued-up, leveled, and ready for paint or clear finish at home. Teens and first-time woodworkers are especially welcome! Participants under the age of 20 will enjoy a $100 discount on materials and prep. Class cost is for two people.
