Songwriting

Each week, we will explore a different element of music or expression to help construct songs. The class will begin with a short lecture introducing a new topic—such as melody, rhythm, harmony, or storytelling—along with listening examples. This will be followed by a hands-on session where we work together as a class to explore the topic and create music collaboratively. At the end of each class, a voluntary challenge will be introduced, encouraging students to write a song incorporating the elements covered that week. In subsequent classes, the beginning of the session will be reserved for those who would like to share their compositions with the group. Conclude with an optional public performance, where students can showcase their original music.
