The Eldercare Certificate is for individuals interested in being caregivers for the elderly or those looking to work in senior care situations including Home Health Care, Assisted Living, or Adult Foster Care Homes. In addition to providing skills to help the elderly, this certificate can help caregivers of those who are disabled, chronically ill, or cognitively impaired. Students will learn about the medical and social needs of elders, as well as nutritional needs, personal care, cleaning, and infection control. Upon completion of this course, students will be prepared to begin working with home health care clients in their homes or assist in other caregiver settings. These courses are also helpful for family caregivers. The next round of classes will start in September 2023.
