Birding for Beginners

ClassGraphic The first session will start with a slide show that points out the basics of bird identification and birding: where and when to go out, what tools to use (binoculars and field guides or apps), what characteristics to look for, and dozens of helpful hints. Students will also view study skins of common species and of species that demonstrate key characteristics. The second session will be a morning outing to a local birding hotspot to practice identifying birds.
