ID : 2408
« back to classes page
ClassGraphic This 8-hour course focuses on those acoustic principles needed to effectively operate, collect, and QA the data generated by different SONAR systems. This program combines theoretical acoustics with the practicality of how they may impact data quality or target detection. Using visuals and animations, theoretical acoustics is simplified and explained using simple arithmetic and geometry. This course is critical for data interpretation and understanding why the recording quality from an instrument can vary even when identical system settings are used from one deployment to the next.
