SONAR system manuals provide information to operate the unit and run the system software. Sample data may be provided. SONAR system manuals do not explain how to generate the best possible data that conditions allow.

This course provides an in-depth understanding of how SONAR works, and the underwater acoustic principles that affect generation of consistently high-quality SONAR data.  The underwater acoustic principles component is tailored to what SONAR operators need to know in the field.  The acoustic training is practical and supported by data samples.  This is a must-have program for those involved in:

- Commercial diving

- Marine construction

- Underwater inspection

- Marine engineering

- Geophysical survey operations

- Search and recovery

- Underwater archaeological projects
