« back to classes page
CourseGraphic Students will be able to pick from a variety of wood slabs: walnut, cherry, poplar, ambrosia maple, or pine. All turned legs, stretchers, pegs, and wedges will be provided. Slabs will be 26"-32" in length and 9"-13" in width and 1.25" thick. They will feature curves, wane, and uneven shapes. Students can choose three options for their center stretcher: a turning, a pegged narrow curvy stick, or a sharply-angled dowl anchored into the seat surface. All projects will be glued up by the end of class, sanded, and ready for a coat of paint or clear finish at home. These benches will be heirloom quality and ready for a few lifetimes of service in your cottage or castle.
