Model-Makers: Build a Sustainable Demonstration House (Grades 4-8)

Calling all future engineers who love putting their skills and interests into action! Join in a hands-on model-building class where construction is combined with green building practices. No prior experience necessary. Learn about the concepts of renewable energy and sustainable living practices such as recycling, composting, insulation, and water consumption. Your model is a sustainable house that when completed will include miniature working solar panels, wind turbines, LED lights, and rechargeable batteries. Offered in partnership with Michigan Technological University.
