NMC and the Northwest Michigan Small Business Development Center have partnered to bring foundational level information to help business owners navigate the complexity of starting and running a business. To earn the Business Development Certificate, you will need to complete at least 40 hours of training through NMC Extended Educational Services, SBDC of Northwest Michigan, and our learning partners. The required classes (marked with a ) are:

• Business Planning with a Purpose
• HR Fundamentals
• Navigating the New Venture Lending Landscape
• Payroll Taxes and Record Keeping 101
• Intro to Quickbooks
• Essentials of Customer Service (offered Winter/Spring 2022)
• One Page Marketing Plan
• Plus 4 electives (see Course Guide)
