Rocking Your World

New! How often have you walked a beach and wondered what all those rocks were called? Meet on the beach and learn to read the hidden tales of geological history. You'll acquire the skills and tools to identify most of the common rocks found in northern Michigan. Learn the identification process, not just the names. Take home some tools to identify more later. We’ll discuss rock collecting rules and ethics as well. Exact meeting location will be emailed to registered students. Meets outdoors for two hours. You must be able to walk on the sandy beach and bend down to pick up rocks for this class.
