CourseGraphic New! Did you know the U.S. produces around 4 million gallons of maple syrup each year? Instead of paying high prices at the grocery store, you can make your own sweet treat from local trees. Join us in the woods for a hands-on field course where we will go through all the steps. Learn how to identify different maple tree species, tap trees using both traditional and modern methods, and boil the sap. Discuss the science of syrup production and how to find the right tools and equipment for small-scale syrup production. You'll leave with the knowledge to create your own liquid gold right from your backyard!
